On April 8th 2025, Hub France IA organized the meetup for the publication of the French section of the mapping of European AI start-ups.

For this 5th edition, more than 300 participants (members, laureates, partners) took part in the event, which was held at Bouygues Group offices in Paris.

The committee of experts, who steered the selection process for the startups to take part in this mapping, selected 597 companies this year, with 265 among them being new.

Key facts:

  • A massive increase of generative AI projects and start-ups, now at the top of the list of solutions identified
  • More than 60 start-ups involved in ecological transition use cases
  • 89% of the ecosystem is made up of agile, fast-growing companies with fewer than 50 employees
  • Significant fund-raising, with a median of €1.9m for generative AI start-ups (based on a representative sample)
  • A clear snapshot of an ecosystem on the move, with the majority based in the Paris region (63%), but with roots that now extend to all regions.
